The places I typically like to study are my desk in my bedroom, living room or bed. I try to study in quiet places that make me feel comfortable. When I study at my desk, I tend to be more productive. Having room to spread out my materials like my laptop, iPad and books makes organizing everything easier. If I am doing homework at my desk, it usually consists of taking notes or highlighting my textbooks.
When I study in the living room, I usually do regular homework assignments that consist of writing or answering questions. I often turn on some music through my headphones to help me focus on writing and developing new ideas.
Studying in bed is a whole different experience. If I need to study for big tests or quizzes, I usually sit in bed with all my stuff laid out. I always have to ensure I have an energy drink or coffee next to me to stay awake.
Overall, there are many different ways to study; each one is unique and pertains to others. I find that the most helpful studying tip is to stay positive and focused on what you are working on.

I used to study more in the library, but I have a newfound affinity for studying in my room.
If I study in the library, I will more than likely get distracted. If I study in my bed or somewhere comfortable, I will also more than likely get distracted. I feel like at my desk, alone and content but not too comfy, is the perfect set up for my productivity.
Sometimes, I like having people there. When my roommate or one of my close friends is in the same room doing their own thing, I tend to get more work done.
However, during finals week, I will absolutely take advantage of the 24-hour library time. If I can get a cubicle alone or sit on one of the beanbags in the nook, I’m golden. Otherwise, I tend to feel too stuffy and can’t get any work done.
All in all, the conditions pretty much have to be perfect for me to be able to get any studying done.

My chosen place of study changes depending on my mood. Sometimes, I like to study at my desk in my house, especially if I know I have a few hours of studying and homework to do. I like an area where I can spread out my work. I have everything I need to do my work at my desk.
Now, if I am at school, my study space looks a little different. If I am between classes, I find an empty table at Griffin. I will turn on my computer and try to get enough work done in the hour or two I have before class.
After class, though, I can usually be found in the Student Publications office in Guillory Hall eating lunch and reading whatever I have assigned for that week. I have noticed that all my tests usually happen in the same week, so I usually have a lot of work.
Now if you will excuse me, I have a few essays to write!

Last semester, my go-to study spot was the library. I liked to grab a drink from Jazzman’s and then bunker down in one of the little personal cubbies on the first floor. I found that really helpful for my productivity because I was away from all of my distractions, in a quiet place made specifically for studying.
This has stopped working for me, though, as I found myself getting distracted even in that space.
This semester, I have stayed in my room to study. Being able to stay in my own area lets me wear comfortable clothes and have access to all of my things if I need them. There is still the risk of being distracted by my own things or my roommate, but I find I get more done when I stay in my room because I am less stressed out in an environment that is my own.
