Fall 2025 has no doubt been a difficult semester for the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. 

To approach the last month of the semester with a lighter heart, here are events that students, faculty and staff can look forward to. 

Starting with arts and culture events, UL Lafayette School of Dance and Theatre will be presenting “State of LA Danse 2025,” featuring works from the Dance Program’s faculty and guest choreographers, from Nov. 20-22 at the Ducrest-Gilfry Auditorium in Angelle Hall. 

Each season, “State of LA Danse” brings together the program’s students and faculty, as well as guest artists, to share works that reflect their passion, growth and creative voice. From classical elegance to contemporary innovation, every piece tells a story of dedication and artistry. 

Showtimes are 7 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 20 and Friday, Nov. 21, and 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 22. 

Students, faculty and staff are admitted free, and it is $10 per ticket for the general public. Tickets are available on Eventbrite. 

Next, UL Lafayette School of Music’s Opera Theatre will be presenting “Lucky Stiff,” an award-winning musical by Stephen Flaherty and Lynn Ahrens, from Nov. 21-23 at the Burke Hawthorne Hall Theatre. 

Audience members can look forward to laughing and tapping their feet as this musical will bring humor and catchy tunes. 

Showtimes are at 7 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 21 and Saturday, Nov. 22, and 3 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 23. 

Students, faculty and staff are admitted free, and it is $24.09 per ticket for the general public. Tickets are available on Eventbrite. 

UL Lafayette’s University Program Center Cultural Connections Board, in collaboration with the Division of Global Engagement, International Student Council and the College of Liberal Arts, will be presenting their third annual “Culture Fest” on Friday, Nov. 21, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., at the Student Union Porch. 

The festival will feature booths promoting different cultures, food of various cultures, a cultural fashion show and more entertainment acts. 

This aims to celebrate the diversity of cultures on the University’s campus and in the greater Lafayette community. 

UL Lafayette School of Dance will also be presenting their fourth annual “Fall Dance” on Monday, Dec. 1, at 6 p.m., in collaboration with Hilliard Art Museum. 

This immersive evening will feature original works by the program’s students and faculty made as response to the exhibitions at Hilliard. 

It will also feature creative work from UL Lafayette School of Theatre, Royales Stomp and Shake Cheer Group and dance artists from across campus. 

UL Lafayette School of Visual Arts will be presenting their “2025 Fall Senior Exhibition – Bachelor of Fine Arts” at Fletcher Hall Gallery. 

Show A will be taking place from Nov. 18-26, the opening reception took place on Nov. 18, from 5-7 p.m. Show B will be taking place from Dec. 1-5. The opening reception will take place on Dec. 1, from 5-7 p.m. 

The exhibition aims to celebrate the incredible work of UL Lafayette’s graduating Bachelor of Fine Arts students and garner support for the next generation of visual artists. 

Caleb Dixon, a senior music media major, will be conducting an art performance, “The Sound of Revolution,” on Dec. 5, at 2 p.m., in Edith Garland Dupré Library’s Lit Lounge. 

This is an interactive production showcasing the history of the African American Revolution through art forms such as song, dance, poetry and media. 

Dixon will be collaborating with other Black artists from UL Lafayette, Langston University and Nicholls State University. 

Onto sports, Ragin’ Cajuns Football will be playing UL Monroe on Nov. 29, at Our Lady of Lourdes Stadium, kickoff time is to be announced. 

Ragin’ Cajuns Men’s Basketball will be playing Jackson State University on Black Friday, Nov. 28, 7 p.m., at Cajundome, and University of North Carolina Wilmington on Dec. 6, 3 p.m., at Cajundome. 

Ragin’ Cajuns Women’s Basketball will be playing East Texas A&M on Dec. 2, 11 a.m., at Cajundome, and Morehead State University on Dec. 7, 4 p.m., at Cajundome. 

In terms of recreational sports, UL Lafayette Black Male Leadership Association will be presenting “Powder Puff 2025,” in partnership with UL Lafayette Recreational Sports, on Saturday, Nov. 22, from 5-7 p.m., at the Intramural Fields. 

“Powder Puff ” is an all-female “7-on- 7” flag football game, open to all female students at the University. 

Now for campus traditions, the annual “Sneaux Day” will be taking place on Dec. 3, more details will be released by UL Lafayette Student Government Association at a later date. 

“Sneaux Day” has been a tradition to experience a little winter magic on campus, with different activities catered to students, faculty and staff, and also their children.

The University will be closed for Thanksgiving from Nov. 27-28, the last day of classes will be on Dec. 5 and finals week will be from Dec. 8-12, with the exception of Dec. 10 as a Mid-Exam Study Day. 

Fall 2025 Commencement will be held on Dec. 19 at 9 a.m. and 2 p.m.
