Homecoming week will be kicking off on Sunday, Oct. 24 with many activities throughout the week. It will end on Saturday, Oct. 30 after the game between the University of Louisiana at Lafayette and Texas State Bobcats.

With the COVID-19 quarantine last year, many students are looking forward to this year’s homecoming events after the limitations last year, while others are opting out of some or all of this year’s homecoming events for various reasons.

Lafayette native and UL Lafayette junior Destiny Brasseaux said that even though she would have loved to attend, she and her husband Steven Brasseaux would not be attending due to a previous commitment, but that they will be keeping up with the game score.

Another UL Lafayette sophomore JT Mosher said “I didn’t go to the game last year because of the limited capacity and I am sure that it will be a little different this year compared to pre-COVID homecoming events, but I have been attending this year’s home games and tailgating activities and they’ve been pretty great!”

Mosher stated that the game will start at 11 a.m., which is a bummer, and he would rather it be a little later in the day.
