As college students, we’re always looking for quick and cheap meals to enjoy during the work week. Just so happened as I was doing my daily scroll through TikTok, this Pizza Hut ad popped up advertising one of its deals, the $0.75 breaded boneless wings. So of course, I had to run to get them and review them.

From the classic pepperoni and cheese to more varieties such as the Veggie Lovers, Backyard BBQ Chicken and Hawaiian Chicken pizzas, Pizza Hut has a number of ways to build your pizza to your liking. Although the name is indeed Pizza Hut, their menu consists of meals such as wings, sides, pastas and desserts, drinks and dips. As for prices, there are at least six deals going on right now, including the $0.75 boneless wings, the $7.99 each two medium one-topping pizzas, the $16.00 dinner box and more.

Pizza Hut offers nine different signature sauces and rubs to choose from when ordering from their menu of wings. You have the option to order either an 8-piece, 16-piece or 24-piece. For today’s meal, I ordered an 8-piece of five out of the nine flavors: Sweet Chili, Spicy Garlic, Honey BBQ, Cajun-style Dry Rub and Lemon Pepper Dry Rub. The other three sauces are Buffalo Medium, Mild and Burnin Hot, and Garlic Parmesan.  Before I get into the review of the food, I must say that I was pretty disappointed with the size of the wings. I expected them to be about the size of regular bone-in wings, but instead they were almost the size of popcorn chicken.

The first flavor I tried was Sweet Chili. I really really enjoyed this flavor and wish I had ordered more. The wings were packed with the sweet taste of the chili sauce, with just a hint of spice to it. I do feel there could have been more sauce on top of the chicken, but I enjoyed this flavor nonetheless.

Next up, the Cajun-style Dry Rub. I found these really didn’t have that much flavor. The dry rub seasoning tastes just like Tony Chachere’s had been sprinkled on top of the chicken. I decided to dip them in a little ranch which helped them taste a bit better, but I wouldn’t order them again.

Next, we have the Spicy Garlic. These wings were surprisingly pretty good. I was a little nervous to try them since I don’t usually go for garlic flavored foods, but for some reason they had no garlic taste at all. These wings did in fact have sauce, as a matter of fact, they were drenched, and the taste was a little overpowering. To me the sauce had an almost vinegar aftertaste that kind of threw off the taste of the meal.

The Honey BBQ wings were exactly what I expected. They were tasty, but nothing too special. I do wish they added more sauce because the wings were basically naked with hints of barbeque flavor to them.

The Lemon Pepper Dry Rub wings definitely surprised me. I’m not usually one for lemon pepper flavors, but these wings were definitely it. The chicken had a strong lemon scent, but the lemon taste wasn’t that strong. I definitely feel that with more lemon flavor, these could have been a 10 out of 10.

Overall, I did enjoy trying each of these wing flavors, with my favorite being the Sweet Chili flavor and the Cajun-style Dry Rub being my least favorite. The only critique I have is that the wings could have been tossed in way more sauce, especially the Honey BBQ flavor and the Cajun-style Dry Rub needed more flavor within the chicken.

As for my customer experience, the service was very friendly and polite. I did order my food over the Pizza Hut app, but it was ready within the 15 minute time frame given and when I arrived, my order was still piping hot.

One note I want to make is that the cashier did make sure to inform me not to hold the food bag at the bottom or too close to me, as the thin containers could burn me.

I visited the Pizza Hut located between Izzo’s and Interior Fabric at the address: 2008 Johnston St, Lafayette, LA 70503. Make sure you don’t miss out on this good deal!
