LA Cheesecake Bakery is a locally-run bakery by Seth and Ashley Dahlan. They specialize in cheesecakes, but offer a variety of desserts and beverages including cheesecake bites, whole cakes, cookies, coffee flights, cream puffs and double doozies.

The bakery is filled with everything you need for a study spot, business meeting or to simply hang out.

There are lots of tables and chairs and even a couch for you to get comfortable, as well as board games for you and your friends to play.

Seth Dahlan’s journey started in restaurants, specifically Blacks in Abbeville. Blacks is where he learned how to make his first cheesecake, white chocolate blueberry.

Their journey began as a humble home bakery, relying solely on a hand mixer for six years before gradually upgrading to a stand mixer, showcasing a remarkable evolution and commitment to their craft. The motivation for transitioning from a home bakery to a storefront came from having their sixth kid.

First, I tried the coffee flights which included Holy Mocha (iced coconut and white chocolate), The Cadbury (hot vanilla, butterscotch and chocolate), All My Peeps (iced marshmallow) and He is Risen (hot Lavender and raspberry). The Holy Mocha was the perfect blend of white chocolate and coconut. The Cadbury tasted like an enriched version of chocolate milk and is my favorite. The All My Peeps was sweet and tasted exactly like a marshmallow. The He Is Risen had a strong flavor of lavender.

Next, I had the cheesecake bites, which included Turtle, Biscoff Cookie Butter and White Chocolate Blueberry. The Turtle had an Oreo crust and was my favorite. I find that turtle is a classic, therefore you can never go wrong with it. Biscoff Cookie Butter was full of the cookie butter flavor. White Chocolate Blueberry was immersed with a fruity blueberry flavor.

Following that, I had the Nutella slice. It was filled with Nutella and hazelnuts on top. From the first bite, you could taste how creamy, nutty and chocolatey the slice was.

Then, I had the honor of tasting their new double doozie. It was two chocolate cookies sandwiched together with a cheesecake filling. It was fresh out of the oven. As I took the first bite, the cream cheese filling oozed out. I thought it was delicious.

Lastly, I had the cheesecake cookie. It had powdered sugar dusted on top of it. It reminded me of a sugar cookie.

Cheesecake bites are $3 each or six bites for $17. The cheesecake slices range from $7-10. The cheesecake cookies range from $1.50-2. The cream puffs are $3.25. The double doozies are $6.50.

I’ve been to the LA Cheesecake Bakery before it was a storefront. I remember the variety boxes they would offer for pickup at their house. My favorites were the “Cake Cake” edition which was cake batter and cheesecake batter combined. I liked every flavor in the “Cake Cake” edition, but my favorite has to be Chantilly. It is such a perfect blend of both cake and cheesecake.

As for the future of LA Cheesecake Bakery, Seth hopes to have vending machines at places like The University of Louisiana at Lafayette and the mall filled with his delicious goods like cheesecake. He thinks it’ll be a fun concept and it’s like having a case that is self-serve. The way the vending machines would work is that it would be refrigerated and it would have a conveyor belt. Seth’s idea reminds me of the Cake Boss vending machine because of its similar concept.

Another plan he has for the future is to make a warehouse where they bake everything and have a bunch of small satellite locations. They would bake daily at the warehouse and transport the cheesecake goods to the satellite locations like Scott, Maurice, Broussard etc.

LA Cheesecake Bakery is located at 600 Guilbeau Rd Suite B, Lafayette, LA 70506. They are open on Tuesday-Friday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. They are open on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. They are closed on Sundays and Mondays.

Make sure to stop by LA Cheesecake Bakery for all of your cheesecake needs. They are my go-to whenever I need cheesecake.
