At 2916 Johnston St., you’ll find The Peach Cobbler Factory, a perfect place for a refreshing treat during those hot summer days. Don’t be deceived by the name, though. The Peach Cobbler Factory’s variety extended way beyond our expectations. I struggled to decide between at least six different flavors for cobblers, banana puddings, cheesecakes, cookies, pudding shakes, cobbler shakes, churro stix, cinnamon rolls and brownies.
Ultimately, I decided to order the mango peach cobbler, Nutella churro stix and the cherry swirl pudding shake. My colleague ordered Nutella cheesecake and a PB&J Pudding Shake. We received our orders within five minutes, and tasted five stars on the first bite. We both remarked on the sweet and refreshing flavors.
I even had the option to get a dessert flight, which is four cobblers or puddings of my choice for a package deal, but I’m definitely saving that for when I go back with more friends.

The Peach Cobbler Factory is a franchise on a meteoric rise, but has stuck to its humble roots. It started as a Tennessee food truck owned by Juan and Tammy Edgerton in 2013. By the time they expanded to several states in 2021, they decided to franchise. In 2022, they partnered with Lawrence Johnston and Greg George, both of whom have extensive experience in business and the food service industry.
Since then, the franchise has grown to over 100 locations in 19 states, including six in Louisiana. We were delighted to talk to Christy Nolan, the Lafayette location’s owner, since it opened in January 2023. Nolan decided that she wanted to own a location after visiting the New Orleans location with friends. Praising the diverse menu options, she said that her first order was the sweet potato pecan cobbler, which reminds her of Thanksgiving in a delectable cup.
When asked about her favorite part of the job, Nolan said, “I love customer service. That’s what I do. That’s what I did before this. So I like interacting with people… You might not like peach cobbler… I think that everything is not for everybody, but we do have something for just about everybody here.”
You can order a cobbler with blackberry, cherry, apple, strawberry and more. You can top your brownie with peanut butter praline or salted caramel. You might want a cinnamon roll with maple syrup, or even stuff it with your favorite cobbler.
Nolan also noted so many things that set The Peach Cobber Factory apart from other dessert businesses in Lafayette. For one, they’re open from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. every day. Additionally, “We do delivery services until around 11 p.m. on weekdays and 12 a.m. on weekends.”
The Peach Cobbler Factory also offers a catering service through the Peachy Mobile. Nolan said, “We get so many people from all over. I’m talking about Houma, Beaumont, Texas, Houston, Baton Rouge, that would see our advertisements on Facebook and TikTok… I cannot open a store in the area. So we decided to invest in the food truck.”
As they have done for the past three years with much success, the Peachy Mobile will be returning to Lagniappe Day on April 17. They will also be catering on April 1, they’ll be catering from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. for Wildin’ Out Wednesday, hosted by the University’s Chapter of the National Pan-Hellenic Council.
They also feature weekly special discounts. Since we went on a Friday, my colleague got $1 off her cheesecake in a cup. On Mondays, Cobbler and Pudding shakes are half off. On Tuesdays, cookies are buy-one-get-one-free. On Wednesdays, you can buy one flight and get one half off. On Thursdays, if you buy a regular-priced dessert, you can get a peachy tea or cold coffee for free.
Personally, I can’t wait to go back to The Peach Cobbler Factory and get something new every time.
